Sony LTO Ultrium4 Tape (Linear Tape-Open) is a high-performance storage tape with 1.6TB compressed recording capacity, 800GB native capacity, and up to 240MB/s transfer speed ideally suited for massive backup, restore and archive applications. The high-speed data transfer rate achieves fast backup time and improved operating efficiency. High-density recording and low error rate are optimized with newly developed fine magnetic particles, Sony's proprietary "Advanced Alloy Armored Metal Particle". Ultra-thin coating technology provides high output characteristics while maintaining high resistance to environmental conditions. The LTO4 cartridge has a built-in non-contact 8KB IC memory. Highly accurate servo signal technology improves data writing and reading accuracy.
